Low-Cost Braille Printer Prototype Design With OCR Technology

This article presents the proposal for the design of a low-cost braille printer that implements OCR technology (Optical Character Recognition) through a mobile application with an algorithm that allows identifying text and images for braille translation or embossing tactile (Sequence connected with perforations on a sheet of paper that replicates by means related to points and lines about the main outline showing the figure or text detected). The objective coming from this prototype is to support teachers, parents or guardians about children who use the Braille system, facilitating the conversion process out from books, documents or any other educational material.
