Performance Comparison of the type-2 hypervisor VirtualBox and VMWare Workstation

This paper presents a performance comparison of two hypervisors, VirtualBox and VMWare Workstation 15 Player. The performances of the hypervisors are evaluated through the performance of the applied file system. For the testing procedure, we have used Filebench benchmark tool. We have used CentOS 7 Linux distribution as the virtual machine operating system. The hypervisor performances are compared taking into consideration tests performed for the system with one, two and three virtual machines launched.
