Neural Network Algorithm for Solving Economic Load Dispatch

Economic Load Dispatch (ELD) is considered as imperative and highly reckoned topic not only in power system operation but also amongst researchers who work in developing new meta-heuristic algorithms. Till date, extensive efforts are given for solving this type of non-convex and non-smooth characteristics problem. In this paper, a new optimization algorithm called Neural Network Algorithm (NNA) is bestowed in solving ELD problem. Here, a single objective ELD problem has been formulated to minimize fuel cost while satisfying load demand as well as operational constraints. Different standard test systems i.e., IEEE 30, 39, 118 bus are considered for validating NNA. The test results reveal efficacy and applicability of using NNA for solving ELD problem.
