On the Efficiency of Masking Effect of Hearing Aids for Tinnitus Treatment and Integration in the Hearing Aid Model

The paper presents some theoretical and practical aspects of the Tinnitus that affects a large number of people in the present times. Few backgrounds of the disease and practical aspects of the treatments are presented. In our approach only the so called "Tinnitus Hearing Aids" are analyzed, as typical medical engineering related devices. This device is basically realizing a masking effect of the Tinnitus noise. Modeling, test of the masking effect, and practical conclusions for Hearing Aid development are presented and commented. The developed concepts were included in a educational model of the Hearing Aid with a perspective to be developed into a commercial biomedical device.
