Development of Equipment for Visual Aid and Motor Rehabilitation Training for Blind Patients

Most of the time, patients with poor eyesight or blindness withdraw from their professional activity or greatly restrict their daily activity due to the lack of methodologies and equipment that will help them and to render them to a greater extent, the main capabilities. In this research, the aim was to develop equipment based on the white cane for blind people and which the training optometrist would use with the blind patient or the patient can use to create independence in mobility himself. In the first part of the paper are presented some general notions related to the structure of some visual aids, which a blind patient can currently use. In the second part of the paper is presented the experimental system, the construction and use of an integrated white cane for the blind patients. The third part of the paper presents the results of using this type of cane and the conclusions for the future development of the research.
