Analysis of selected technologies of cable recycling

With the rapid development of the power engineering, communication technology, utilisation of electronic products, automotive industry, the quantity of waste as wires or cables also increases. The colour metals, mainly copper and aluminium contained in the waste cables, have high purity and their recycling energy consumption is low. The aim of this contribution is to explore possibilities of recycling and sorting of electric cables, to summarize information about types of electric cables, their production and recycling. Given the large amount of cable waste, cable recycling is extremely important nowadays, not only from an environmental point of view, but also from an economic point of view. Based on this, the methodology of work and experiment was chosen, which describes methods of separation and recycling of electric cables. The laboratory methods of mechanical recycling were investigated. The advantages and disadvantages of recycling technology of waste cables will be analysed in the conclusion.
