The Development of E-Learning with Intelligent Tutoring System through Anthropological Approach (A Case Study at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta)

E-learning is a new concept in the learning process that is able to overcome the weaknesses of conventional learning such as limited space and time. In e-learning, a teacher provides the same material for all students without considering the ability and level of student understanding. As a result, a student who does not understand the material is forced to join the next teaching material. Individual teaching is a solution to solve the problems, where the teacher can control the teaching and understand the characteristics of students. The research method used includes a survey with the technique of questionnaire to collect data and Rapid Application Development (RAD) through an Intelligent Tutoring System to develop an e-learning model. The study found that the Intelligent Tutoring System with the process of Natural Language Processing can assist students to question and answer process with the tutor and can identify the characteristics of students individually in order for them to assess the level of their own ability so that the learning process becomes effective.
