Oil & Gas Industry Mapping Analysis with GIS Approach: A Literature Review

As the millennial era strikes in, smart industries or known as industry 4.0 is a wide spoken topic in the world of industries. By the concerns of Indonesia upon several arise issues, this paper present a pre-study of the Geographical Information System (GIS) approaches to dwell in the Industrial sector specified in the Oil & Gas Industry. As industry 4.0 constitutes a new operations system, adjustments and new mindset are integrated to enhance the industry process. Pertamina Hulu Mahakam had collaborated with GIS to improve its technological processes and monitoring activities. By using a gap analysis and systematic literature review, the results will illustrate the mapping analysis protruding the data integration and ownerships which has been the concern of the government in Indonesia. Using ArcGIS online, the tools ease the visualization and creation of the proposed map design to show an efficient mapping of the oil & gas industries. Accordingly, some current issues, challenges, and proposed solutions are mentioned and limitations mentioned are recommended for peer further research purposes.
