Multi-Frequency Millimeter-Wave Large-Scale Channel Characteristics in Suburban Environment

The measurement-based large-scale channel characterizations in suburban environment across 28 GHz and 39 GHz are presented. Using a flexible millimeter channel sounder, sufficient measurement data have been collected for large-scale channel characteristics in both line-of-sight (LoS) and obstacleLoS (OLoS) scenarios. Both closed-in and floating-intercept path loss models are respectively employed to analyze the effects of frequency and foliage blockage on large-scale fading for directional and omnidirectional channels, indicating the impact of foliage blockage on the mmWave propagation in suburban environments.
