A Uniplanar Multi-Band Antenna for The Metal Back Cover Tablet Computer Applications

This research proposes a multi-band antenna which is composed of an inverted-F antenna and a parasitic short-circuit monopole. The size of this antenna is 60 mm × 10 mm × 0.8 mm and this antenna is fabricated on a FR4 glass epoxy substrate. This uniplanar antenna is compact and simple structure, and designs on the metal back cover tablet computer. The operating frequency bands of this antenna includes the LTE 700/900/1800 and WLAN 2.4/5 GHz bands. The efficiency and peak gain are 35%－77% and −0.82 dBi－5 dBi respectively.
