On the Modeling of a DC Motor in Electric Vehicle’s EMC Studies

In this paper, the feasibility of replacing the motor system of an electric vehicle in numerical simulations by a monopole or dipole antenna model is studied and reported. Modeling results indicate that, both the monopole and dipole replacement with properly chosen lengths can similarly resemble the actual motor’s radiation characteristics. Either of these two approaches can thus be adopted in modeling studies.
