The Designation of the Lightning Protection for the Photovoltaic Module by using the Protective Angle Method

Nowadays, the natural fuel cell is continuously decreased. Therefore, the PV module can be utilized to generate the renewable energy for the electrical applications. However, the PV module will be installed at the outdoor areas which directly risk to strike by the lightning flash. Hence, it must be protected the lightning flash by using the lightning protection apparatus. Moreover, the lightning protection apparatus such as the air termination can deliver the result of the lightning protection angle based on the protective angle method which can be utilized to protect the lightning hazard for the PV module. However, the analysis of the lightning protection angle is complicated for implementation with the PV module because it never appears the simplified correlation. As mentioned above, this article presents the designation of the lightning protection for the PV module by using the protective angle method. The lightning protection angle protecting for the PV module is analyzed through the novel equation which is easily determined the result for the practical. Moreover, the procedure of the designation in this article can be utilized in the implementation.
