Standalone Multilevel Inverter Using DVR for Power Quality Improvement

This paper aims to bring forward a novel cascaded fifteen level multilevel inverter for standalone applications. Multilevel inverter lessens the symphonious substance and accomplishes almost sinusoidal wave. The percentage of total harmonics distortion (THD) can be decreased to a great extent by using a multilevel inverter. In examination with a two-level converter, a standard converter has less harmonic distortion. The dynamic voltage restorer is used to reduce the voltage sag and swell on the transmission line. Due to the wide application of power converters for the effective control and conversion of power which are fed to the electrical load, the concept of the power quality is given more importance. Multi carrier PWM technique is used as the controlling technique. The proposed system can reduce the voltage sag and also the total harmonics of the system. The reenactment analysis is utilized by using MATLAB/SIMULINK.
