New Virtual Sector Approach For Robust Active Queue Management Synthesis

This document focuses on the design of a controller subject to input saturation. The problem statement is motivated by a new idea that consists in describing the saturated input by a virtual dead zone non-linearity and an unsaturated control law. As a result, the stabilization conditions contain a new parameter that depends on the virtual sector and at the same time allows them to be less conservative. These algebraic conditions are expressed in terms of delay-dependent Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMI). By solving these LMIs we obtain a robust local stabilizing H

controller. The implementation of the proposal as a network congestion control mechanism over a TCP communication protocol is discussed. MATLAB simulation and NS3 experiments with comparison judge the results as robust and reliable.
