Anti-reflector Coating on the Bases of Detecting High Temperature Black Body Radiators

In this work, it is aimed to contemplate and manipulate the development of high efficiency and ultra-broad band antireflective coatings on the infrared (IR) optical substrates for harvesting the mid-wave infrared radiation (MWIR) emitted from blackbody sources. Antireflective coatings on any substrate contain multiple layers, which are consisted of materials with low and high refractive indexes. Various layout of multiple layers with high accuracy thickness (less than 5%) and surface roughness were optimized by the Optilayer software and the coatings were performed by the plasma assisted deposition (PAD) technique. Highly efficient antireflective coatings on substrates with high IR permittivity have reliable transmittance greater than 99%, covering the whole MWIR ranging from 3 to 5 microns in wavelength. On the other hand, the coatings developed on the electro-optical substrates offer low cost fabrication process due to its less number of layers and thicknesses to provide ultra-broadband optical performance for the detection of the MWIR portion of the IR radiation which correspond to thermal radiation of hot bodies ranging from 100 to 700 °C.
