LEO Satellites Attitude Control using Image Processing

Lower Earth Orbit satellites revolve around the earth to provide data exchange at faster rate. This requires proper orientation with respect to the earth if imaging is to be done at all times. The axis of rotation in the space is to be kept constant with respect to the earth to ensure proper acquisition of images. To ascertain the credible orientation, image processing can be used. Horizon is found out through edge detection which then evaluates the pitch and roll through the algorithm. The threshold via edge detection provides a line through the edge threshold evaluating the attitude through pitch and roll data. The axis is defined which can be used for various purposes. Stabilization of axis of satellite is of great importance and image processing is used to provide for such values. Continuous image processing can further help in structuring broadcasts and communications.
