A Co-Planer Waveguide Feed Dual Band Antenna with Frequency Reconfigurability for WLAN and WiMax Systems

A CPW (Co-Planer waveguide) feed dual band slot antenna with frequency reconfiguration technique is presented in this paper. Frequency reconfiguration mechanism is performed between WiMax (worldwide interoperability for microwave access) and WLAN (wireless area network) systems. The propose designed antenna, consists of stubs of T-shaped and inverted T-shaped. Reconfiguration is achieved by placing respective stubs on different layers of the antenna i-e T-shaped is placed at the top layer which generates WiMax frequency band at 3.3-3.45 GHz (IEEE 802.16) and inverted T-shaped stub is placed at the bottom layer gives the WLAN frequency band at 2.2-2.45 GHz (IEEE 802.11).
