Short Circuit Analysis of Electrical Distribution System for Typical Chemical Industry

The fault calculations are also termed as short-circuit studies. With the swift expanding power system, the fault level (i.e., power available to flow into fault) is also getting up. To decide the characteristics of the equipment required to withstand or break the fault current, the short circuit current must be determined at each and every level in the electrical system establishment. The paper presents load flow analysis and short circuit analysis of the 11kV distribution network for typical chemical industrial plant. Considering normal condition, every node is individually made to undergo triple line fault as it is most severe and line to ground fault as it's possibility of occurrence is highest. Short circuit analysis of the distribution system is done using manual calculations and ETAP software and both obtained results are compared at last.
