Multi Microgrid Power Quality Enhancement using Distribution Power Conditioner

A Multi-Microgrid (MMG) constitutes more than one microgrid based on renewable energy resources, being connected together. The nonlinear and varying loads connected to the MMG, differ the balance between sources and loads, creating many power quality problems. These problems are based on voltage such as dips, swells and harmonics. Distribution Power Conditioner (DPC), a novel device is proposed to mitigate these concerned power quality issues. The DPC provides voltage magnitude compensation in addition to harmonic mitigation which is accomplished by including active power filtering with the novel technique Identity Vector Template Generation (IVTG). This method is compared to PI and Synchronous Reference Frame (SRF) methods in providing harmonic compensation in the MMG with different load variations.
