Modeling and CFD simulation in ANSYS of air piston deviation in subway stations

This paper shows the results obtained with the help of numerical CFD simulations using the ANSYS 1.19 software. The purpose of this work is that through CFD's numerical modeling and numerical CFD simulations, it can be reduced the intensity of the air piston before entering the subway station. The paper presents a research on how CFD simulations generate viable solutions for deflecting air piston produced by train movement in galleries and subway stations. The ultimate goal of this work is to increase the comfort level of passengers and employees in the subway, by reducing the volume of air entering the station by piston effect. The results of 3D CFD modeling and simulations in this work demonstrate that the piston effect can be mitigated and redirected thus ensuring a high degree of comfort to passengers awaiting Metro trains.
