A New Algorithm for DCT Using Dual Split Radix and Recursive Technique

A new recursive algorithm for Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT-II) has been suggested in this paper. The proposed algorithm is a combination of recursive technique and dual split radix technique. The suggested algorithm reduces number of multiplication as well as computational cycles significantly required for the computation of DCT -II. Architecture of the algorithm is also suggested. Proposed architecture is modular, regular and easily implementable in VLSI.
