Adaptation of the Wideband System Antenna Array Directional Pattern

The article proposes to control the shape of the antenna array pattern by creating an amplitude-phase distribution at the aperture of the antenna array. In the MatLab environment, a simulation was carried out, confirming the hypothesis that it was possible to adapt the array pattern to specified operating conditions. It has been analytically shown that there is an unambiguous relationship between the amplitude-phase distribution at the aperture of the antenna and its array pattern through the forward and inverse fast Fourier transform. Unlike existing algorithms for adapting antenna array patterns with the calculation of weighting coefficients based on correlation convolution, the proposed algorithm can be fundamentally implemented in real time, with given values of accuracy characteristics. A digital control device based on a microcontroller with a built-in computer for fast Fourier transform is proposed, providing the possibility of controlling the antenna array pattern adapting in real time.
