Comparison of Performance of Cognitive Radio Network under Single and Multi-User Scenario

In this paper, we analyze the performance of single user and multi-user communication model in LTE CRN links. The performance of the two models is compared in terms of outage probability and symbol error rate (SER) under small-scale fading including combining schemes. The impact of the number of antenna elements on combining schemes and two different fading environments have been investigated in terms of the above performance metrics. The performance of the communication system deteriorates under multi-user scenario because of inclusion of interference but the multi-user model represents more realistic scenarios of wireless links. We found that SER and outage probability of multi-user model comparable with single user case under multiple antennas. The analytical results are also verified by simulation with high confidence level.
