Transmission of Electric Energy from Wind Power Plants to the Network: Patent Search

The Russian Federation has the largest technical and economic potential of wind energy in the world. At the moment, there are no definite schemes and strategies for connecting wind power plants to the unified energy system not developed. The technical issues of regulating the operation of wind power stations in the network, including power flows, are not resolved. In this paper, patent research in the field of connecting wind power plants to the electrical network. The main problems and shortcomings of existing solutions are identified. Leaders of the wind energy industry identified as a result of patent searches. The main conclusions were drawn and further plans were outlined for the study of this issue in Russia.
