Simulation for Pretensioning Bolted-Type Connections of High-Loaded Assembly Units

A finite-element model of bolted connection has been developed, designed for a stress and strain state at various axial forces. The assembly process is simulated in the ANSYS CAE package. Calculation results and experimental data for assembling two parts connected on flat surfaces at different bolt pretension forces have been presented. The analysis of the obtained results as well as comparison of simulation and experiment data has been carried out. The direction for further research related to the study of interrelations between assembly parameters and influencing factors is defined).
