Automated Measurement of Bevel Gears

The article describes the features of measuring and checking the bevel gears using automated controls. The authors analyzed the features of accuracy indicators and measurements of bevel gears in relation to their geometry. Possible automated means of measuring and control of bevel gears are considered and analyzed. The authors point out that for the full implementation of quality control measures in actual production, it is necessary to use two types of control facilities - shop floor for control of all products and elemental for sampling. The design of the automated device for shop floor control developed by the authors with the use of inductive sensors has been presented, which allows to quickly assess the suitability of the product. The method of inspection with the use of the developed device is given. The use of coordinate-measuring machines as elemental control is justified. The programming techniques of coordinate measuring machines and formulas for calculating the accuracy indices as applied to measuring bevel gears are given.
