Power-dependent invisibility devices for antenna arrays

Electromagnetic invisibility or cloaking represents one of the most important breakthroughs enabled by metamaterials and metasurfaces. Among its possible applications, cloaking of antennas has been emerged as a topic of particular interest since it increases the degrees of freedom available for the design of complex telecommunication platforms. In this contribution, we will show that the potentialities of cloaking for antennas can be further increased if we make use of power-dependent metasurfaces, i.e., textured engineered surfaces loaded with non-linear elements. We will show that such structures enable shaping the radiation pattern of an antenna array depending on the input or received power by the driven element.
