Study of a soft switched Isolated DC-DC Bidirectional Converter for Electric Vehicles

This paper presents a study and design of an isolated DC-DC bidirectional converter. Conditions for zero-voltage switching (ZVS) for all the active switches and zero current switching (ZCS) for the rectifier diodes are derived analytically. Design guidelines to ensure ZVS are presented. A lab prototype is designed to verify the functionality of the converter and experimental results are recorded.
