Analysis of Instructional Interaction Behaviors Based on OOTIAS in Smart Learning Environment

With the deep integration of information communication technology (ICT) into teaching, the impact of ICT on teacher-student interaction becomes deeper and deeper. Teacher-student interaction is an essential feature of classroom instruction, and the verbal behavior has always been the focus on teaching interaction behavior research. However, when faced with a smart learning environment, which equipped with mobile devices, instructional platform and digital learning resources has advantages in support of diverse interactions. Using verbal behavior analysis only to analyze the class videos of smart learning classroom environment will ignore richer forms of interaction and deeper levels of interaction. In this paper, an improved coding system-OOTIAS (One-to-One Techno-based Interaction Analysis System) is proposed based on FIAS (Flanders Interaction Analysis System) and ITIAS (Information Technology-Based Interaction Analysis System) to analyze deeper levels of interaction behaviors in smart learning environment. Two different typical cases are chosen to verify the effectiveness of the OOTIAS. The result shows that OOTIAS is able to analyze fully instructional interaction behaviors, especially the effect of human-technology interaction.
