Sensorless Control of Linear Induction Motor Based on SSLKF-PLL Speed Estimation Scheme

The presence of the speed sensor represents one of the concerning issues in the traction drive system. To tackle this issue, various speed-sensorless techniques have been shown in the literatures to achieve satisfactory speed estimation performance. Different from the conventional speed estimation schemes, this digest makes some research efforts to accomplish a speed estimation scheme by introducing the concept of the steady-state linear Kalman filter-based phase locked-loop (SSLKF-PLL) for linear induction motor (LIM) speed-sensorless drive system. The main challenges of this scheme are facing with the harmonics and parameter variations. With this, the pre-filter and the amplitude normalization scheme are provided to reject the disturbance. In addition, the dynamic performance of the scheme is analyzed in detail. Some tests are performed to support the work about the SSLKF-PLL scheme.
