Virtual DC Generator Control Strategy Based on Differential Compensation

An improved control strategy for virtual DC motor (VDCM) with storage energy interface in DC microgrids is proposed in this paper. Through adding differential compensations to feedforward channels in traditional VDCM controls, resiliency of DC microgrids can be enhanced with improved converter damping against disturbances from load variations and renewable energy sources. Three compensation methods are presented, and their impacts on DC bus voltage stabilization are analyzed. The proposed framework is validated by simulations, and results verify the enhancement of the inertia of the converter.
