Theoretical Foundation of Information Waves Investigation in Social Networks

Approaches to the investigation of events in the information space are mainly developed by mathematicians, who pay insufficient attention to the theoretical component of the problem. The article provides a rationale for the theoretical and methodological approach to the investigation of information processes from social sciences. Two key concepts of the information space are considered: an informational event as the focus of the process and informational waves as a mechanism for creating events.
