A Bootstrap Charge-Pump Technique for High Gain Boost Converter Applications

This paper demonstrates an alternative method to produce a high voltage gain of boost converter in order to use with high voltage applications based on quadruple bootstrap capacitor charge pumped combined with non-isolated boost converter circuit. A 150 kHz proposed converter produces a compact regulated of 1500 V power supply from an input ranges from 100-150 V with 120 V nominal and can provide up to 20 mA for a resistive load. The concept of a voltage gain limitation for boost converter, basic constant frequency switched-capacitor charge pump, experimental and results was discussed in this paper. The proposed converter gives a voltage regulation of 5.16% at maximum desired current with 82.95% of efficiency at full load and has a voltage gain of 12.
