Client-server application with Android mobile phone technology

A commonly encountered problem within a scientific experiment is the monitoring of the activities and events that occur in the laboratories, so that the responsible employees are informed whenever an interesting event takes place, be it related to the scientific work being carried out, the safety of the equipment or event the safety of the involved personnel. The application described in this paper will be used to inform employees about the state of the experiments that are being monitored by sending them a notification on their mobile phones. The minimum requirements for deploying this solution consist in an object-oriented programming environment for Android technology, a Java compiler (for Unix or Windows), one or more SQL databases and a server architecture that supports those tools. The result is an Android application that generates notifications on the employee's phones, notifications with relevant messages about events in the laboratory.
