Study on Fiber Bragg Grating Monitoring Technology for Oil and Gas Pipelines Crossing the Landslide

In this study, a pipeline landslide monitoring system is designed based on Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) technology considering the landslide disasters encountered by oil and gas pipelines. The system is capable of monitoring the landslide surface displacement, deep displacement and the pipelines strains simultaneously in real time. An automatic monitoring data acquisition and transmission system is built by applying the wireless network technology. Thus, the monitoring data can be aggregated in coordinator node by means of wireless communication and is finally transmitted to the remote monitoring center through GPRS module. The field application shows that the monitoring system is featured by strong instantaneity, high reliability and easy network distribution, and can be used for field monitoring of buried pipelines in the case of natural disasters.
