Headphone Filtering in Spectral Domain

The hearing profile of each individual is as unique as a fingerprint, someone might like more bass, some may prefer more midrange, while others like detailed high frequency information. Listening to audio in an acoustically treated room is the closest we can get to a perfect listening experience. Since this research concentrates on headphones, the room factor will not be influencing the listening experience. Therefore, it could be a useful tool for professionals, to have the headphones sound as linear as they can be and to find out analytically, if they are preferred with the implemented filter sets over their default response. This study will also look to move in the direction of establishing a standard that can be used as reference for measuring headphone performance.
