Partial Chirp Modulation Technique for Chirp Sequence based Radar Communications

The realization of joint radar communications schemes is a promising approach to avoid future spectrum congestions which can imapct the capabilites of overlapping communications and radar systems. In this paper, measurements and simulations are presented to explore the use of partial modulation communications model for chirp sequence based radars and its affection on the radar detection for automotive applications. Moreover, a synchronization method to correct both frequency and phase offsets at the receiver before the demodulation is ensured using Software Define Radios (SDR). In addition, the bit error rate will be shown to estimate the validity of the proposed modultion method.
