Temporal Interference Correlation and Joint Coverage in Finite Cellular Network with Non-Uniform PPP

In existing works, temporal interference correlation and joint coverage probability have been extensively studied in the infinite-area cellular network. However, in the actual networks, base stations (BSs) are deployed non-uniformly in a finite area, which leads to the network performance differences at different locations. Utilizing stochastic geometry, this paper analyzes the temporal correlation in the finite-area network with a non-uniform Poisson point process (PPP) model by deriving the exact expression of interference correlation coefficient and joint coverage probability between two different slots at arbitrary location in the finite region. Specifically, interference and coverage are temporally correlated in different slots due to the stability of network topology and the large-scale fading. In addition, the randomness introduced by independent small-scale fading weakens the temporal correlation to some extent, and non-uniform BS distribution in the finite network area leads to the location-dependence of temporal correlation of interference and coverage. Numerical results show the effects of BS densities, path-loss factors, and the location of a typical user on temporal correlation of interference and joint coverage probability.
