Design of transverse gradient coil for human finger blood glucose NMR detection apparatus

In this paper, an optimized target field (TF) method is proposed for designing the transverse gradient coil. The pratical magnetic field strength is measured at discrete points in the region of interst (ROI), and the current density distribution of grandient coil can be calculated by TF method. With constraint of the desired magnetic field strength, and the dissipated power of the coil is minimized as the penalty function. Then the flow function is obtained in accordance with the current density distribution. Finally, the finite element method is employed to calculate the magnetic field in the ROI. The results indicate that the improved transverse gradient coil has better linearity and uniformity. To conclude, the proposed design method of transverse gradient coil can well satisfy the requirements of human finger blood glucose NMR detection apparatus.
