Abstract:

The next generation communication 5G network strives to provide high Quality of Service(QOS), low latency and higher security when compared to current communication network. Software Defined Network(SDN) is an emerging technology which provides logical centralized view that helps to manage large number of network host. Direct programmability, Agility and Central management is very easy in heterogeneous network especially while using SDN.As the amount of devices increase, managing the huge traffic is a major issue in 5G heterogeneous networks. The traffic flows are differentiated into various categories such as heavy flow, giant flow, massive flow etc. In this paper we have proposed a well- organized algorithm that manages the network traffic with the help of SDN network in heterogeneous network. Our algorithm was tested in NS3 simulator and we found that it provided good accuracy in detecting traffic congestion.
