Role of Cognitive Radio to Improve Agriculture

When compared to traditional agriculture, today's agriculture uses sophisticated methods and devices such as robots, aerial images and Global Positioning System (GPS) to improve the production and serve the rising needs of the people. This is vital for countries like India where the population is high and increasing day by day. This manuscript aims at transmitting the data (image of seeds, infected plant etc) using Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) transceiver from the remote place to a research center for consultation. OFDM has been chosen because of its inherent capability to mitigate Inter Symbol Interference (ISI). The availability of the communication channel is sensed with the aid of Cognitive Radio (CR). CR has risen as booming solution to achieve dynamic spectrum access. It has been already proved that OFDM is a bit fit for CR. Once the channel is sensed the data is transmitted utilizing this channel. Hence this amalgamation paves way for successful data transfer without any sacrifice in the quality of the data in noisy environment.
