Electronically Tunable Current Mode Universal Filter using a Single MX CCCII

In this paper an electronically tunable currentmode universal filter is proposed, which employing only a single active element namely Multi-X current controlled conveyor (MX-CCCII), and two grounded capacitors. The proposed circuit using the minimum component, so it is easily integrable on IC. Also, the circuit provide the low input impedance for the input current and high output impedance for output currents so, it is easily cascadable at the input and output node. The circuit provides the filter functions: LP, HP, BP, and BR simultaneously without need of any matching condition. The angular frequency (ω

) is electronically tunable and do not depend on the quality factor (Q). The effects of non-idealities and parasitics of active element on the circuit performances are discussed. The results are verified through PSPICE simulation using a 0.25 μm TSMC model with the supply voltages of ±1.25 V.
