Load Flow Solution for Radial Distribution Network

The paper proposes an elementary and straightforward approach for load flow evaluation for radial distribution networks. Two developed matrices - BIBC and BCBV (the bus injection to branch current matrix and the branch current to bus voltage matrix) and an easy matrix multiplication are applied to get load flow results. The developed matrices are formed with help of backward and forward sweep (BFS method) using KCL and KVL (Kirchhoff's current law and Kirchhoff's voltage law respectively). This approach can be enforced to the solution for three-phase and for single-phase configuration of the system. The considered method finds the array of branches for feeders, laterals and sub laterals. The presented algorithm has been tested for IEEE 85 bus system without tie lines. The algorithm converged well for constant power, constant current, constant impedance and composite load modeling.
