A Simple one-way of Modeling of Wireless Power Transfer System

Although the concept of wireless Power transmission seems recent, this technology is already studied since the end of XIX. The first research to address the topic was from Nikola Tesla. Several works have been developed worldwide with different kind of transmission methods, trying to enable the wireless power transmission in order to amplify the efficiency and transmitted power. One of the methods that shows itself promising and is available in the literature uses the resonant coupling theory. The resonant coupling technology use two identical coils with the same resonant frequency, which increases the coupling of the coils and outweighs the transmission efficiency. In this work was developed a mathematical model to represent the equivalent system of wireless power transmission based on resonant coupling theory using an RLC circuit. The mathematical model was confirmed by measuring, once that mathematical results were similar to the measurement results, and it was observed that the maximum efficiency happens in the resonant frequency of the coils, nearly 1.25MHz. There are other aspects that should be taking into account, like distance between coils, optimization processes and mechanisms to amplify transmission efficiency.
