A Center Frequency and Bandwidth Tunable Microwave Photonic Band-Stop Filter Based on an InP/InGaAsP Micro-Ring Resonator

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a center frequency and bandwidth tunable microwave photonic (MWP) band-stop filter based on an InP/InGaAsP micro-ring resonator (MRR). Combining the advantages of the flexible tunability of the MRR and the large microwave extinction ratio introduced by the phase cancellation architecture, an MWP band-stop filter with center frequency tunable ranges from 2.5 GHz to 9.6 GHz, the bandwidth tuning ranges from 0.7 GHz to 1.7 GHz and the extinction ratio over 35 dB is realized.
