Zero-Forward Scattering for Omnidirectional Incidence using non-Hermitian Particles

In this paper, we derive the formulism for zero forward scattering for an electrical dipole dimer with arbitrary directions of the incident wave, showing that zero forward scattering can be realized by introducing active elements. We analyze a realistic nanosphere dimer and verify the analysis by analytical and numerical results. In order to realize zero forward scattering for omnidirectional incident waves, we present the required topology of the array and calculate the required permittivity of the gain elements. The numerical results validate our design. Finally, we discuss the possibility of multidirectional zero scattering by adding more particles.
