Design of a Wideband Vivaldi Antenna for 5G Base Stations

In this paper, a dual-polarized wideband Vivaldi antenna for 5G base stations is presented. Dual-polarization is achieved with two perpendicularly Vivaldi elements. Finally, this element is introduced into a lower band element which covers the 690-960MHz band. The 81mm*99mm Vivaldi antenna achieves a bandwidth of 1.4-3.8GHz for return losses of <; -10dB and isolation below -30dB. Symmetric radiation pattern with beamwidths of 60° ± 25° and gain higher than 7dB is obtained.
