Novel Reconfigurable Circularly Polarized Square Slot Antenna for underground mine

In this paper, a reconfigurable low profile circular polarized square slot antenna is proposed. The antenna ground plane has four parallel resonator, with six switches embedded over the resonators to alter their lengths. By controlling and combining different states of the switches (ON/OFF), three different frequency bands and three stop bands are obtained. Simulated results of the antenna system showed a good performance in terms of bandwidth control.
