Impedance-matched circular polarization selective surfaces with spin-selective phase modulation

This paper proposes an impedance-matched circular polarization selective surface which also allows reshaping of the reflected circularly polarized (CP) field. The required reflection phase discontinuities are realized by leveraging the geometric phase shift (i.e., Pancharatnam-Berry phase). The physical realization of the surface is discussed which utilizes cascaded layers of crossed meander lines. The versatility of the proposed structure is showcased by numerically demonstrating a CPSS that reflects a left-handed CP field at an arbitrary angle, but normally transmits a right-handed CP field.
