An Ultrathin Flexible Metasurface for Half Mirror and QWP Operation

A novel metasurface with half-mirror (1:1 beam-splitter) and quarter-wave plate operation is being presented in this paper. The design consists of a square-shaped slot resonator with a slit and a split ring resonator inside it. The proposed metasurface exhibits simultaneous half-mirror and quarter-wave plate (QWP) operation over two broad frequency bands between 7.025-7.385 and 19.1-20.33 GHz, while only half-mirror operation is achieved over other two frequency bands centered at 14.6-16 and 27.7-29 GHz.
